The Nords head to Oakville to square off against the Red Wings in the third season opener for these two teams. Dubbed the "Commisioner's Classic" I will give this one to Barrie 4-3. The Wings have some fire power up front, This will result in a 3-2 win on offensive categories, however, the Wings will not make their goalie games, thus dropping 2 categories to the Nords without an effort. GM Filion tried a late move to add Bryzgalov to fill the goaltending hole, but was not able to dress him in time. Maybe if Filion spent more time on his team, rather than posting doctored images of the Assistant Commissioner on the Newswire. He wouldn't have this problem. Justice will be served where it counts - On the Ice!
Clamhammers at Alliston
The Hammers get down in Alliston with the virgin 93 Leafs. This one will be a one sided massacre in favor of the 93 Leafs. The Alliston team has a very promising looking, strong offense. Combine this with an injured netminder dressed for the Clams, and we have another goalie game forfeit. Add those 2 categories in favor of the 93 Leafs, I predict a result of 5-1 Alliston. Sorry GM Younger, only YOU can prove me wrong.... please don't hurt me.
Gophers at Burlington
This one will be close. The Firecats are one of the worse active teams in RHL history, and Sidney Crosby won't be enough to put them in the playoffs. The Gophers surprised me last year, and I expect them to finish around 5th again in 2008. This one will finish 3-2 in favour of Georgetown. Shea Weber must be in bed with GM Hazelwood as he finds himself in the number one defense spot. This will be Weber's second season with the Gophers. Speaking of number one D-men, Phillippe Boucher is a Firecat once again. C'mon Chudzik, give someone else a chance. I won't be watching this one, someone tell me how it ends up..... or not ... whatever.
Mullets at Woodbridge
It's the Camaro against the IROC as the Peterborough Mullets take on the Kwik-E-Mart Gougers of Woodbridge. These teams are evenly matched, both are solid up front, in the net, and especially, in the rear. This will be a good battle. However, I give the edge to the Mullets 3-2. I don't now if it's too late, but the Gougers look to be dressing a defenseman contemplating retirement. This potential empty defense spot will give the Mullets the advantage they need to capitalize.
Wazooz at China Town
This one is hard to call, but I'm gonna have to go with the Jets. Maybe you haven't noticed, but the Jets have finished 3rd place two years in a row. This year GM David Le had a very strong draft, in my opinion, and potentially could have the strongest goaltending in the league? I predict the China Town Jets to go to number one this year. Don't let his asian background fool you, his work ethic is leaps and bounds above all the other GM's. The Wazooz look strong as well, but will be counting on guys like Souray and Sykora to stay out of the negative this year, if they hope to be a contender. Jets 4 - Wazooz 2.
Colts at Streetsville
Does anyone really care? Excluding Avery, the Sarnia Colts is the biggest collection of pussies I have ever seen. The Perogies will pound the shit out of the Colts 6-1
